iDUST aims to provide a safe and productive meeting environment that fosters scientific exchange, ensures equal opportunities, and is free from harassment and discrimination. Free discussion and debate are encouraged, but all participants—including chairpersons, presenters, panelists, and attendees—must treat others with respect, follow venue rules, and report dangerous situations or participants in distress. Participants are also expected to uphold scientific integrity and professional ethics.
Discrimination or harassment will not be tolerated, whether in-person or virtual. Discrimination includes prejudicial treatment based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or other personal attributes. Harassment includes speech or behavior—spoken, written, or online—that creates an intimidating, hostile, or threatening environment, including bullying, stalking, unwanted attention, or sexual advances. Behavior intended as a joke is still unacceptable.
Anyone experiencing or observing discrimination or harassment should report it to a LOC member or via contact.idust2026@lsbb.eu. Reports will be handled confidentially, as far as possible, and violations or bad-faith allegations may result in disciplinary action. Organizers may remove participants from the meeting without warning. Retaliation against complainants or witnesses is prohibited.
This policy draws heavily on the AAAS Code of Conduct.
